Painting has begun, and the prep work alone deserves a round of applause. The painting crew masked off everything, including fully tarping the windows, which instantly made the inside of the house feel dark and a little dreary. We keep reminding ourselves that it’s temporary. The exterior has been sprayed, and now the process of carefully putting everything back in place outside is underway.
Inside, drywall is officially finished, which triggered a much-needed reset before the next phase. All of the floor paper was pulled up and replaced with fresh protection to help cut down on lingering drywall dust and the general grit that had worked its way into every corner. It feels like a small thing, but it makes a huge difference in day-to-day living.
Furniture has started arriving, adding equal parts excitement and logistical juggling to an already busy house. We’re also meeting with the landscape team, shifting our focus outward as the build continues to move forward.
The dogs are totally rocking this now. They staged a few barking protests when the window tarps went up, but otherwise, they’re unfazed, walking right outside regardless of who’s working or what’s happening around them.
Trades are starting to work their way back through the interior this week. It feels like a turning point, with less demolition, more finishing, and a lot of visible progress ahead.
