Details, details, details. That’s the phase we’re firmly in right now.
Trim work continues, and we’ve met several times to walk through the plan in real time, because sometimes what works perfectly on paper needs a little adjustment once you’re standing in the actual space. Being able to measure, mock up, and fine-tune these areas has been invaluable, even if it means a few changes along the way.
Painters are back inside, prepping and painting the areas of the existing home that shifted during construction and needed a refresh. We’re hoping this gets us to our first fully complete space soon, which feels like a major milestone. The tradeoff, of course, is that our living area has shrunk yet again, thanks to tarps protecting against overspray. Add sanding dust to the mix, and things are… gritty.
Outside, we’re also trying to bring order to the chaos. We met with the paver team to discuss repairs where sections were removed, plan a new path to the backyard, and adjust for the changes to the front porch. Landscaping plans are now finalized as well, and we’re hoping to get started as soon as this latest cold snap passes. In the meantime, several outdoor plants have been relocated indoors for protection, squeezing into an already overcrowded house.
The garage is officially in full holding-pattern mode—packed with furniture, fixtures, and miscellaneous items patiently waiting their turn to be installed. There is stuff. There are things. They are everywhere.
Looking ahead, next week is a big one: countertops go in. That means we’ll really start moving through finishing details and working down the ongoing punch list. It feels close, and also like the final stretch where everything takes just a bit longer than expected.
