Inside Delta HQ: A behind-the-scenes look at the future of home design

Delta Faucet Company innovations, bathroom faucet

I recently had the chance to visit the Delta Faucet Company headquarters, and it was an experience I won’t forget anytime soon. As someone who’s always looking for ways to bring new ideas into our homes at John Merrill Homes, it was incredible to get a peek behind the curtain at where these products are dreamed up, tested, and refined.

From their cutting-edge industrial design lab to their 3D printing setup that turns concepts into tangible models, it was like stepping into the future of home building. The team welcomed us with open arms, gave us a chance to offer input, and capped off the trip with a fun social event.

Now, let’s talk about the latest innovations, because what’s coming down the pipeline (pun intended) from Delta and Brizo (a luxury brand of fittings and accessories within the portfolio of Delta Faucet Company) is genuinely exciting for builders and homeowners designing a luxe space.

Latest innovations from Brizo

1. Knob handles in unexpected finishes

Brizo is pushing design boundaries with new knob handles that come in materials like black crystal, white marble, and concrete—a simple way to bring tactile interest into bathrooms or kitchens. Whether you’re going for a moody modern look or something softer and more organic, these finishes open up all sorts of design possibilities.

Polished marble and brass ring with unexpected finish detail, held by a person with manicured nails, showcasing a modern jewelry design.

2. Expanded Frank Lloyd Wright Collection

A new lunar handle to the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection is a beautiful blend of artistry and architecture. This series continues to honor Wright’s legacy in a way that feels fresh and contemporary. (Wright was an architect, designer, writer, and educator. He designed more than 1,000 structures over a creative period of 70 years.)

3. The return of polished nickel

I’m pleased to announce that polished nickel is back! It’s a timeless finish that works in both traditional and contemporary spaces, and it’s exciting to see it making a strong comeback. I love how it pairs warmth with a hint of glamor, without being too flashy.

Polished nickel bathroom fixtures, including showerheads, faucet, and towel bars, mounted on a white marble wall, showcasing a modern and sleek design.

4. Beauclere Bath Collection with malachite inset knobs

If you’re into bold design moments, you need to see the new Beauclere collection. The malachite inset knobs are jaw-dropping, with rich greens, luxe textures, and a British manor house vibe that’s both regal and a little eccentric. Definitely a statement piece for the right space.

5. Digital shower system with chromatherapy and aromatherapy

This one blew me away. Brizo’s MystixTM digital steam shower system lets you control everything from temperature to lighting to scent. There are seven color options designed to enhance your mood and curated essential oil blends that turn a regular shower into a wellness experience.

6. Linear shower drains that actually look good

Brizo has designed linear drains that match your chosen finish, so instead of being a visual interruption, the drain becomes part of the design. It’s a small detail, but one that makes a big impact when you’re aiming for a high-end look.

7. Pristive™ tankless RO filtration system

This tankless reverse osmosis (RO) system filters out over 90 contaminants, including PFAS, microplastics, and lead, and even has an option to add minerals back in for taste and pH balance. It’s sleek, efficient, and a perfect fit for clients seeking water purification without bulky hardware.

Delta Faucet Company innovations

1. ProClean™ spray technology

Delta added their ProClean spray to select kitchen and shower fixtures, and it’s one of those features you didn’t know you needed until you try it. The wide fan spray helps clean your sink faster, reach awkward spots, and deal with stubborn messes.

2. New exclusive collections: Altado and Renaldi

Delta is introducing trade-exclusive collections you can’t buy at big-box stores. The Altado bath collection is minimal and refined, while the Renaldi kitchen line combines elegant lines with practical tech like Touch2O® (now with touchless activation!).

3. More finishes, including polished nickel and brushed gold

Delta’s bringing back polished nickel and expanding the finish options across their existing collections. Brushed gold, matte black, and split finishes (like matte black and champagne bronze) give you even more flexibility to match hardware with lighting, cabinetry, or tile.

4. SteamScape™ digital shower system

Delta’s version of the digital steam shower system focuses on customization and sustainability. It uses less than a gallon of water for a 20-minute steam and offers chromatherapy and aromatherapy settings that rival a high-end spa. It’s built to last, with a two-year warranty on electronic components.

5. PivotPro™ 3-in-1 combination shower

This one’s perfect for families. The new PivotPro shower head pivots 360 degrees and offers different spray modes. Whether you’re tall, short, need something soothing, or a blast to rinse shampoo out of a toddler’s hair, it adjusts to suit everyone.

6. Coordinated linear shower drains

Just like Brizo’s version, Delta is now offering linear shower drains that align with your chosen finish. These make custom bathrooms feel even more dialed in with a designer touch.

Stay tuned; we’ve got some beautiful things coming!

Getting to visit Delta HQ gave me so much to look forward to as a designer and builder. These innovations aren’t just about making things look pretty (though they do that, too). They’re about improving everyday moments, making cleaning easier, making showers more relaxing, and personalizing your custom home.

And that’s what we care about at John Merrill Homes. We custom build and renovate homes to improve your daily life, and thanks to partnerships with brands like Delta and Brizo, we’re always finding new ways to do that.

One of the things I’m most excited about is Delta’s expanded Trade Program. As a builder, it means I can offer my clients early access to exclusive collections and finishes they won’t see anywhere else. It’s one more way we can deliver unique, high-quality homes that stand apart from the rest.
