The windows are officially in—installed by our incredible staff carpenters, with Adam jumping in himself. As luck would have it, a cold snap arrived right on cue. With walls down and open window openings, we spent a night in 40-degree temps bundled under every extra and heated blanket we own. Renovation glamour at its finest.
The dogs are processing this phase in their own ways. Sweet Annie is thoroughly confused and keeps wandering up into the entry, clearly unsure how she got there. Moira Rose is begrudgingly accepting the situation, selectively kind to some workers and firmly unimpressed by others.
But the payoff this week was huge. With the windows in place, we can finally see the scale of the space and take in the beautiful backyard and wooded views they frame. It’s one of those moments where the vision starts to feel real.
Inside, Adam framed out the gas fireplace after the Isokern box was installed, and we are officially in love with the brick color.
Behind the scenes, we completed our electrical and low-voltage walk, and work has begun on wiring, plumbing, and AC ductwork—lots of progress happening, even if it’s not all immediately visible.
And in the most important update of all: our elves are back. They wasted no time signing the temporary Christmas wall, bringing a little holiday magic back into the middle of construction season.
